27 March 2020 Covid-19: Risk Managment & Coverage Considerations The US Government has asked all Americans to adopt social distancing measures until May 1. That date may change. Much international passenger travel has been restricted including across land borders with Mexico and Canada (they are still open to commercial traffic). Freight forwarders and customs brokers have been deemed essential businesses so they remain open although many of their employees that do not physically handle freight are working remotely. Freight is moving internationally but some ocean terminals are working reduced hours due to diminished freight flows. Airfreight underdeck capacity has been reduced internationally due to restrictions on passenger flights.
