FIATA encourages Association Members to use the FIATA Document Delivery System (FDDS) platform to access internal communications, such as calls of meetings, minutes, etc. The FDDS platform provides a comprehensive library of documents divided into folders which correspond to the various FIATA institutes and bodies. Through FDDS, FIATA can deliver messages securely and smoothly to its member delegates and reduce the risk of notifications being considered as spams by the receiver.
FIATA endeavours to update the platform contacts on a regular basis, and delegates designated by FIATA Association Members will receive an email from FIATA with their login information. In the instance that a delegate forgets their password, it is possible to reset the password using the link under the login field on the FDDS. For questions on FDDS use and/or access, please contact the FIATA Headquarters at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The contracting process is crucial for freight forwarders, and in today’s complex supply chain, having proper management controls is key to significantly mitigate one’s risk and avoid undue liability exposure. FIATA’s Advisory Body on Legal Matters (ABLM) has put together a Best Practice Guide on Contract Management providing general considerations for freight forwarders during any contracting process, delving into the overall stages of the process and providing guidance regarding what to watch out for and the essential contractual clauses to consider. The guide also addresses other more specialized contracts to provide general guidance on what to consider in such instances.
The guide will be released shortly, and further information will be released in due course. In addition, a webinar will take place on 6 September at 13:30 CEST, in which the ABLM Chair and some of the ABLM experts will take FIATA members through the best practice guide and show how it can be leveraged in their national contexts.
Regional winners of the YIFFYA revealed
FIATA and TT Club reveal this year’s regional winners of the Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award (YIFFYA). For over 20 years, the YIFFYA has been providing valuable training and networking opportunities for young talent in the freight forwarding industry. Both FIATA and TT Club are thrilled to continually recognize the inspirational and dynamic minds of the young freight forwarding community.
Traditionally, the four regional winners would present their dissertations at the FIATA World Congress, with final judging and the announcement of the global winner taking place during the event. This year, with the postponement of the congress, the YIFFYA event will go online and will be organized in November in line with the period for the FIATA General Meeting. More information will be published in the coming months. Read the full press release.
