Participate in FIATA interview about AEO certification!

FIATA, in collaboration with IATA, is conducting an interview about the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certification to assess the effectiveness of the certification and associated benefits as well as the process of acquiring the certification from the FIATA members' experience.

In this regard, FIATA invites you to participate in the interview to provide FIATA with your insight by answering the interview questions about the experience of your company becoming AEO-certified in your region or what would encourage your company to become AEO certified. Both AEO certified and non-AEO certified members are invited to participate.

Your participation will help FIATA continue its advocacy and lobbying efforts for accessible AEO certification for companies of all sizes, including SMEs, with tangible benefits.

FIATA is looking forward to having a global representation in responders: Europe, Latin America, North America, Region Asia-Pacific, and Africa and Middle East.

Please fill in the below form and we will contact you shortly.

FIATA visits Association members in Singapore!

On the occasion of FIATA's participation to the ICC Future for Trade conference in Singapore, FIATA visited its two Singaporean Association members. It was the first opportunity to reconnect after the pandemic with these members. The first meeting was with the SAAA (Singapore Aircargo Agents Association). In the discussion with the highly recognised industry veterans of the Association, FIATA used the opportunity to bring up the Global Aircargo Programme which is a priority topic in airfreight for FIATA. The current cargo agency programme which regulates the relationship between freight forwarders and airlines, does not recognise the buyer-seller relationship, and does not cover Africa and Middle East, and Region Asia-Pacific. FIATA is looking to work closely in these Regions with its members, to bring up a globally harmonised programme for all regions.

The FIATA DG then met with representatives of the SLA (Singapore Logistics Association). The meeting was an excellent opportunity to debrief on the ICC FTF meeting, and FIATA Digital Strategy. Kay Hock Tan, Ken Ngan, Thomas Sim, Stanley Lim and Oh Bee Lock together with Director General Stéphane Graber, focused on the importance of ensuring interoperability between FIATA data standards and other supply chain stakeholders, and in particular the DG highlighted the importance to FIATA of digitalisation not being a final goal, but a tool to help the business development. Importance was also given to data governance in a digital world.

FIATA participates in 84th IFCC Council Meeting

This week, FIATA took part in the 84th IATA-FIATA Consultative Council meeting, which was the first in-presence meeting since 2020. The meeting with the airlines was positive, and gave renewed traction to achieve common goals in a new Global Aircargo Programme, which benefits all regions and reflects the current buyer-seller relationship. FIATA will also be reporting at the 50th Cargo Agency Conference (CAC) in Istanbul on the occasion of the IATA World Cargo Symposium from 24-27 April.

ACTC (Brazil), BIFA (the United Kingdom), EFFSAA (Ethiopia) and FEDESPEDI (Italy) have been selected as the four Association members to compete for the chance to host the 2026 FIATA World Congress edition, marking an important milestone in FIATA’s history as the federation will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in late May of that year. The selection of the finalists will occur in early June at the next FIATA Congress Committee meeting. FIATA wishes good luck to the contestants in their bid!

53rd validation and re-validation session starting now!

In 2022, the FIATA Logistics Institute (FLI) conducted 3 validation sessions in order to catch up with the backlog created by the pandemic, and validated 28 training programmes of the FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding (FDFF) and the FIATA Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management (FHDSCM). Thanks to the hard work of the delegates, FLI has caught up the delays and will resume the usual 2 sessions per year starting this month for the 53rd validation/revalidation session!

The FLI intensively works to ensure that the training programmes delivered by the validated association members remain up-to-date. The Task Force 1 of the FLI is putting all its efforts into sustaining the value of the FIATA Diploma and to protect the FIATA Minimum standards.

For any questions or interest in delivering the FIATA Diploma, and to be validated by FIATA, get in touch with FIATA on [email protected].
