As you prepare for your trip, here’s a quick guide to help you make the most of your experience. From the tropical weather to transportation logistics, we have got you covered.
Weather and Climate
Panama’s climate is warm and tropical, with high humidity. It is currently the rainy season, so expect occasional showers. The average temperature hovers around 27°C (81°F), with daytime highs reaching 31°C (88°F) and night-time lows around 25°C (77°F). Sunrise is at 6:00 AM, and sunset is at 6:30 PM, giving you plenty of daylight hours.
Most establishments, including hotels and conference venues, will have air conditioning. Be prepared for indoor temperatures ranging from 18-22°C (64-72°F), so packing a light jacket might be a good idea.
Packing Tips: Essentials for Your Panama Trip
To ensure a comfortable trip, here are a few essentials you will not want to forget:
- Travel adapter: Panama uses US-style plugs (voltage used in Panama is 110V / 60Hz. Plugs and outlets used are Type A and Type B). If you are bringing devices from other countries, a travel adapter will be handy.
- Lightweight, breathable clothing: Opt for loose-fitting, quick-dry fabrics to keep cool during the day. Don’t forget that most indoor spaces are air-conditioned, so bringing a light jacket is recommended.
- Business casual attire: For any professional or semi-formal events, make sure you have business-appropriate clothing that’s comfortable in the tropical heat.
- Comfortable walking shoes: With plenty of walking expected, sturdy shoes with good support are a must.
- Sunscreen and insect repellent: Protect your skin from the sun and keep mosquitoes at bay.
- Raincoat or umbrella: Showers are common during this season, so be prepared.
- Hat and sunglasses: Despite occasional showers, the sun can be strong during the day. Bring a hat and sunglasses to protect yourself from the heat and UV rays during sunny periods
- Reusable water bottle: Stay hydrated while helping to reduce plastic waste.
Transportation to and from PCC
For your convenience, transportation is provided between the Sheraton Hotel and the Panama Convention Center (PCC). Below is the transportation schedule:
From Sheraton Hotel to PCC:
- September 24th: 7:30
- September 25th: 8:00
- September 26th: 7:30
From PCC to Sheraton Hotel:
- September 24th: 19:30 PM
- September 25th: 18:30 PM
- September 26th: 18:30 PM
Please note: The estimated travel time is about 25 minutes. Pickup and drop-off locations will be at the Main Lobby of both the Sheraton Hotel and the PCC.
Transportation will only be available during the designated morning and evening times, so please plan accordingly.
If you're staying at a different hotel, please check with your concierge for available transport services or potential shuttle stops at your location.
