FIATA is very pleased to announce and welcome new Presidency and Extended Board Members for the 2023-2025 term

The 2023 Electoral General Meeting saw various changes to the FIATA Presidency, not least a change at the reins of FIATA's leadership, with Turgut Erkeskin of UTIKAD, Türkiye, becoming FIATA's President for a two-year term. The Immediate Past President Dr Ivan Petrov is warmly thanked and wished all the best in his future, after a stellar two-year term, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic, but thankfully ended in more normal conditions. FIATA expresses its sincere gratitude for Dr Petrov's hard work, and wishes him a well-deserved rest after passing on the 'heavy' ceremonial chain which comes with much responsibility, to Mr Erkeskin. Special features can be read in the upcoming FIATA Review November Edition on the changes and messages of thanks to incoming and outgoing Presidency and Extended Board Members.

Other new faces to the Presidency include:

  • Marc Bibeau, Senior Vice President, CIFFA, Canada
  • Neil Taylor, Treasurer, ALOG, Chile

who join Senior Vice Presidents Jens Roemer, Forward Belgium, and Thomas Sim, SLA, Singapore on the Presidency. Robert Keen remains Secretary General after being unanimously re-elected for the position which he has held since 2021, providing valued support to the regulatory work of the Federation. Our warm thoughts also go to the outgoing Immediate Past President Basil Pietersen, who has been a long-term support and guide since completing his Presidency term. Mr Pietersen now becomes a FIATA Honorary Member, alongside Mr Robert Voltmann who is also honored for his long-term dedication this year, becoming an Honorary Member.

The Extended Board also saw new members come in. Below are the newly elected Vice Presidents:

Region Africa and Middle East

  • Ahmed Khaleel, EIFFA, Egypt
  • Sheila Mashiri, SFAAZ, Zimbabwe
  • David Nutakor, GIFF, Ghana

Region Asia-Pacific

  • Byungjin Kim, KIFFA, Republic of Korea

Once again, a huge congratulations goes to all, and FIATA looks forward to the mutual work that will be emarked upon in the coming months.

Still haven't heard? FIATA congratulates Andre Hein Gerber as 2023 Young Logistics Professionals Award Global Winner

During the 2023 FIATA World Congress, FIATA and TT Club were proud to announce Andre Gerber as winner of this year's Young Logistics Professionals Award. Andre impressed the YP Steering Committee with his dissertation on the import of a hydrogen desulphurisation reactor and the export of an entire sweet factory, which the judges felt truly embodied the YLP spirit.

Congratulations again to Andre on this milestone achievement, from all the FIATA family!
