A Successful first FIT Alliance webinar!

The first webinar of the FIT Alliance eBL webinar series, hosted by FIATA, was a great success, both in terms of shared content and attendance!

The webinar, entitled Understanding Data Exchange and Relevant Legal Considerations In a Rapidly Evolving Digital Landscape from the Perspective of a Customer, featured leading experts such as Avalon Risk Management Senior Account Executive Northeast Regional Office, Jennifer Fragale; CargoX Vice President Commercial, Peter Kern; ICC Digital Standards Initiative Lead Legal Reform/Regulatory Affairs, Tianmi Stilphen and United Nations Commission on International Trade Law Legal Officer, Yanying Li as speakers.

Moderated by the FIATA Director General, Dr Stéphane Graber, the experts discussed the transfer of digital documents and data sets such as the electronic FIATA Bill of Lading (eFBL) from the persepctive of insurers, platform providers and legal experts. Practical recommendations and understanding of the consideration for the use of digital documents such as the electronic Bill of Lading and its legality were provided.

The successful webinar was attended by 125 participants representing the various stakeholders throughout the supply chain from custom brokers, to shippers, carriers, freight forwarders, insurances, government agencies and regulatory bodies, legal services and more! The audience was highly engaged, asking several pertinent questions to the experts whose answers demonstrated that nothing prevents the use of eFBL, and that it is no longer a wish, but a reality

FIATA sincerely thanks the speakers and all the participants for their valuable contributions and remind them that Part 2 of the Digital eBL webinar series will be hosted by BIMCO, in early September. Follow the FIT Alliance on LinkedIn and stay tuned for more information.
