FIATA Seeks New Director General
12 April 2019 - Zurich, Switzerland - “I am announcing today, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) is seeking a new Director General with a proposed placement in Geneva to lead its Secretariat and interface with its members in the international freight forwarding, logistics and supply chain management community “said FIATA President Babar Badat.
In seeking a new Director-General, the FIATA President acknowledged the work of its outgoing Director General Hans Guenther Kersten. He commented that FIATA as the world’s largest non-governmental organization in the field of freight transportation and logistics remains committed to excellence in service to its Association Members and ensuring that FIATA’s Individual Members receive the benefit of strong brand recognition and the continued recognition of FIATA by governmental and non-governmental bodies in international trade.
He advised that FIATA will be communicating with its Association Members regarding the vacancy and the credentials required for interested individuals applying for the position. Details will be posted on the FIATA Website as to the appointed employment agency. As well the position will be advertised in a widely circulated international trade journal.
“The changing face of global trade and emerging trends in e-commerce, will be high on the agenda for the new Director General. For a person wishing to be at the cutting edge of international trade and logistics this role at FIATA will be that challenge” he stated.
