Connect Series

The FIATA Connect Series, launched in 2021, focuses on topics of importance to the freight forwarding industry. This series of webinars is designed to provide insights on cutting-edge practices to assist logistics professionals. It provides our members with the opportunity to learn from high-level experts, while interacting with one another.

First FIATA Connect webinar: "Greenhouse gas emission calculators and standardisation processes: Perspectives for the freight forwarding sector"

Organised on 01 July 2021.

Ms. Andrea Schoen, Head of Business Sustainability and Customer Consulting at DB Schenker, will speak about this process and what it means for the industry.

For more information, see this interview with Ms. Schoen: The time to prioritise sustainable transport systems is now

Second FIATA Connect webinar: "Today's e-commerce boom: challenge or opportunity for freight forwarders?"

Organised on 29 September 2021.

The rapid rise of e-commerce activities, propelled by the COVID-19 pandemic, represents a fundamental supply chain shift. This trend has compelled all actors to quickly adapt to challenges inherent to these activities at a time when airfreight capacity shortage and other forwarding issues already add much complexity to the daily running of operations.

About 100 participants benefited from the insights provided by our three guests speakers: Mr. Brendan Sullivan, Global Head of Cargo at IATA, Mr. Pranab Kumar Das, Director of Compliance and Facilitation at the World Customs Organisation (WCO) and Prof. Manuel Alba Fernandez, Director of the Private Law Department at the University Carlos III of Madrid.
